WW2 era map of Singapore

This map was recently sold on eBay in the US - I wish I had seen it before sale!

  1. David, this map seems to be a post-war map from the 1950s as it contains both WWII era Japanese military map symbols and US/NATO military map symbols from that era. I am guessing it was made by Japanese veterans together with younger officers from the JSDF or US military officers in Japan.

    1. It could also have been made by referring to war diaries or other records. The times on the map are in Tokyo time, GMT+09:00. Singapore was on Malayan time in 1942, GMT+07:30. This led to some confusion about the surrender time.
